Thinking of taking a shot at online dating? Before you do, read this!
Many do not mind looking for love or starting a relationship online with people they know little or nothing about. This is dangerous, to say the least. It is, thus, imperative to carefully consider the disadvantages of online dating. Check out a few of them below:
1. People aren’t always who they claim to be
After a conversation is initiated online, you start to build an idea of who the person is, and most times, you realize that you are catfished. Whatever information a person gives you may turn out to be false.
2. Sex is much easier to get
People say it’s much easier to have sex with a person you meet online than with a person you meet in real life, which is true. Online dating makes it easier for both men and women to have sex. Just by reading someone’s profile or chatting with them, you already feel close to them on matters that should be discussed in person and not over the phone.
3. Most people don’t have genuine conversations
So, you have made up your mind to “see where things go”, then you start chatting with people who share your interests. But as the conversation progresses, you’ll realize that most of the “like minds” chatting with you are not genuine. A perfect example is how people write “no hookups” on their profiles and later seek you out for the exact same thing.
