Obasanjo rejects Jonathan’s plea for support

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has rejected the plea of President Goodluck Jonathan for his support in the February 14 presidential election, reports The Nation.

Obasanjo told a bewildered Jonathan that it was too late for him to support him in the election.

Jonathan, who met Obasanjo on Monday in Abeokuta in company of some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders felt disappointed with Obasanjo stance.

President Jonathan had requested for the meeting as part of moves towards ending the frosty relationship between him and Obasanjo.

Two Christian leaders – Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and Bishop David Oyedepo of the Winners’ Chapel also attended the meeting at Obasanjo’s request.
