Gisele Bundchen is saying goodbye to the runway.
The supermodel and wife of NFL star Tom Brady has announced she is retiring from the runway after 20 years.
Her appearance Wednesday night at Sao Paulo Fashion Week would be the last runway walk of her career, said Bundchen 34, who strutted her stuff for Colcci, the Brazilian streetwear label she has represented since 2005.
Brady had a front row seat for the farewell show.
The model and mom took a little walk down memory lane early Wednesday on Instagram, saying, “I am grateful that at 14, I was given the opportunity to start this journey. Today after 20 years in the industry, it is a privilege to be doing my last fashion show by choice and yet still be working in other facets of the business.”
Bundchen, who earned $47 million dollars last year, according to Forbes, says her body is telling her the time is right.
The runway would miss her, but how she managed to keep that body going is what baffles me, especially after two kids. Anyway, my prayer is that we’ll all get the opportunity to have an early retirement, Amin!
