Lady Gaga has stepped in to replace Beyonce at this year’s Coachella concert. The news comes after Beyonce who had been due to headline Coachella alongside British experimental rockers Radiohead and acclaimed rapper Kendrick Lamar cancelled on doctors’ orders as she is expecting twins with her husband, Jay Z.
Coachella announced Lady Gaga as the new Headliner on April 15 and 22 respectively, in a late night post yesterday.
Lady Gaga headlining, ensures that the premier music festival has a woman headliner for the first time in a decade since Icelandic pop diva Bjork in 2007.
Ticket resale prices for the sold-out festival had slumped immediately after her cancellation.
Lady Gaga however shared Coachella’s new poster on her Instagram page and captioned it, “Let’s party in the desert”.
