John Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey has announced his intention to join the political train of Lagos state and contest for Lagos State House of Assembly.
Just like his colleagues, Abolore Akande(9ice), Zakky Azzay, Kenny Saint Brown, to mention a few, the galala crooner would be vying for a a seat in the Lagos State Assembly.
Showkey declared his political intention at a programme known as Rubbin Minds on Channels Television recently.
On his intention to join politics, Asiemo disclosed will help curb the nefarious criminal activities around Ajegunle neighbourhood.
Daddy Showkey stated further that he had pleaded the supports of past Lagos state governors, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babatunde Raji Fashola.
The singer who is now ‘minister for Ajegunle’ also said he is not going into politics for himself but because of the situation in Ajegunle.
“Government has neglected Ajegunle in terms of development and they have also denied the youths of what will engaged them” he said.
The Ajegunle cum international star concluded that he is seeing Ajegunle as the most important place for him, that’s why he is going into politics to develop the area.
Daddy Showkey lived in Ajegunle all his life before he became a star and relocated to Ojodu Berger, Lagos.
Showkey is one of the music stars that has been making Ajegunle thick. His album titled Diana shot him into stardom and he has since been a good ambassador of Ajegunle.
