Gang-up Against Genevieve’s Movie, Lion Heart Uncovered

Lion Heart, the debut movie of the veteran actress, Genevieve Nnaji is presently facing industry gang-up.

The screening is meant to kick off today, Friday, December 21, in major cinemas across the country.

But there are indications that the film may not see the light of day following several crises trailing the movie.

Checks revealed that one of the major distributors, who had agreed to show the movie backed out after the deal went sour.

Patrick Lee, the Chairman Exhibitors Association of Nigeria while addressing the media concerning the movie said the Lion Heart team didn’t follow due diligence involved in exhibiting the film in cinemas.

“We expect the movie to come from a licenced distributor.”

“And we also expect the movie to be given adequate run time in the cinemas before it is officially released on other platforms”.

Patrick Lee in his statement posited further that Genevieve has starred and produced movies for cinema exhibition in the past.

He noted that the actress should be better familiar with the way the industry works.

Patrick added that Genevieve should follow the likes of Mo Abudu, AY and Kemi Adetiba for a right approach in dealing with the  cinemas.

Recall that Lion Heart in June this year had a successful screening at the TIFF and in Marrakesh, Morocco. The film  will also be on Netflix in January 2019.
