Tosin Silverdam, a writer based in the Northern part of Nigeria, has called Belinda Effah a Z-list actress after she reproved him for criticizing Adesua Etomi’s Vogue cover.

The Nollywood actress, who also runs a food business in Lagos, criticized Tosin for holding Adesua's huge milestone in disdain.

According to her, it doesn't matter if Adesua was made up to look darker than normal, as this doesn't stop her from being black. The makeup, she insisted, was some sort of artistic representation. She went further to say that Tosin was just an attention seeker with no achievements.

Tosin didn't let this slide. He responded by calling Belinda a Z-list actress, even as Adesua thanked her fellow actress for standing up for her.

“I actually wanted to ignore this but the pettiness in me wouldn’t allow me to let it fly,” he wrote. “So a Z-list actress called @belindaeffah decided to write an epistle about me. That epistle clearly showed she’s overly ignorant. So this actress really has time, to the extent of dedicating a whole post about me on her page. You said I should ignore and mind my business, please are you practicing what you preached? Who invited you? What’s your business? Are you @adesuaetomi?”

You said I should ignore and mind my business, please are you practicing what you preached? Who invited you? What’s your business? Are you @adesuaetomi? Wait, are you a representative from Adesua’s camp? It shows you’re ratchet and probably has no class. You’re the only actress that interfered, you should have mind your business like others did. Oh, wait are you trying to show fake love on social media because that’s what most of you do. We all know you guys don’t even like each other but come on social media to show fake love. I’m quite sure you and Adesua aren’t even friends, so why the oversabi? You said I am myopic just because I aired my opinion? So being a public figure that automatically make you all untouchable right? Because you’re a celebrity I should be scared to air my opinion? Being a celebrity doesn’t make you any less a human being. If you’re a celebrity you don’t expect everyone to praise your work when they find a fault in it, so anyone that notice that fault is a hater? Not everyone is an asslicker like you and some of @adesuaetomi fans who saw the error in that cover but too blind to admit it. We can never grow if we continue like this... Any little critic, you tagged as a hater... I love @adesuaetomi, critiquing her doesn’t make me a hater. Dear @belindaeffah, probably when you’re invited for such offer on @genevievemagazine (cos I doubt @voguemagazine will even consider you), if I see any error, I will talk, until then... Stay blessed!!!

Perhaps if this Vogue cover involved an African American, Americans wouldn't have been quiet about it or celebrated it. When Kim Kardashian had on a darker shade of makeup to sell her makeup line, critics tore her apart and she had to render an apology. Now, this is happening in Nigeria and people are probably too blinded by the 'white man syndrome' to notice that making Adesua darker on that cover is unacceptable.

What are your thoughts? Are people too blinded by the white man syndrome to the faults of Adesua Etomi’s Vogue cover?
