28-year-old Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, performed on America’s ‘The daily show’, hosted by top comedian, Trevoh Noah, on Tuesday night.
It was a major feat for Burna Boy and Nigerian music in diaspora, as he spoke about his new album and Nigerian music in general. He also performed live two of his hit songs "Anybody" and "Ye" for the audience.
Burna Boy, who rose to limelight in 2013 after the release of his debut studio album, L.I.F.E, has since become a force in the Nigerian music world. After a great 2018, he won the Best International Act in the 2019 BET Awards. Months after receiving the Sound City Artiste of the Year award in 2018, his song "Ye" also won the Song of the Year award.
‘The Daily Show’ is an American late-night talk show, where humour is used to discuss social and cultural trending stories around the world. It airs from Mondays through Thursdays on Comedy Central.
