Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, has revealed some major challenges in the Ghanaian movie industry.
She made this revelation recently in a Twitter post, where she stated that the challenges are responsible for the stagnation of the industry.
The first challenge, she maintained, is the nonchalance of her colleagues to making movies. According to her, they only care about slaying.
The second, she stated, is the lack of investors. She insisted that the fact that the country only has two cinema locations has discouraged investors from sinking their money into the industry.
She further noted that the second challenge can be addressed by investors who are willing to build cinemas.
Read her tweet below:
"Peeps in my industry dont care charley! They care about slaying more than investing in or making movies, the drive and passion died a while ago. But why invest when we only have two cinema locations? Its embarrassing when promoting our movies charley, like seriously y’all in Ghana only promote accra /westhills mall?? Yeaa.
“We need Ghanaian content on our TVs !!!!! We need investors to builld cinemas across Ghana!"
