The Conversation heads to Ibadan

Fola Akintomide

The Conversation train is heading to Ibadan this July. The event will hold on Sunday, July 26 at Pentonrise building, Bodija.

The brainchild of Joy Isi Bewaji, The Conversation had its beginning in May with the first edition in Lagos, amongst men and women who addressed patriarchy, sexism and gender induced poverty issues.

The team, sponsored by Nneoma Albert-Benson of BEFA Women and Child Care Foundation, organised a second edition at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

The Ibadan edition will have fresh voices- a team of intellectual writers and feminists as headliners:

Pearl Osibu, Ayodele Olofintuade, Bunmi Familoni and Abimbola Adelakun. ‘Understanding Patriarchy’ is the topic that will emphasise the many issues of misogyny, sexism and discrimination argued in favour or against privileges and oppression.

“It’s an unlearning process. And what better way to unlearn than get new knowledge. I am excited about this edition; the headliners are those who continuously channel their effort towards promoting equality,” Joy said.

Twenty participants have been selected from Lagos to be part of a fun trip to Ibadan.
