Movie enthusiasts, critics and other heavyweights in the entertainment industry stormed the Silverbird Cinemas Lagos, on the 2nd August, 2015 for the private screening of Stephanie Linus’ latest movie, ‘Dry’.
Parading stars like Darwin Shaw, Liz Benson Ameye, Bill McNamara and introducing Zubaidat Ibrahim Fagge, the production of ‘Dry’ was supported by the Aberystwyth University, Wales; Diamond Bank, Ford Foundation, Mikano Generators, Arik and many more.
The production’s creative team include: director of photography- Angel Barroeta, executive producer- Linus Idahosa while Jane Lawalata and Akanimo Odon are the co-producers.
This latest effort by the star actress brags of positive reviews from guests privy to the screening; with many applauding the storyline, screenplay and overall production.
The film centres on Halima; a teenager who is forced to endure a life clearly not designed for a child. Just a child, Halima is betrothed to be married to a man who is more than four times her age. Speaking about the movie, Stephanie Linus says: ‘This film is an opportunity to create an awareness and I believe that with moving, heart-wrenching scenes accompanied by the serious, and often-controversial social matters addressed, lives will be touched and lessons will be learnt.’
