The two-day Belarus-Africa Forum themed: New Frontiers, organized by the Development Bank of Belarus and African Export-Import Bank, alongside the Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the support of the Belarus Ministry of Agriculture, was held in Belarus-Minsk.
The forum had Prime Ministers, Ministers, Consuls, Financiers from the Public and Private sectors as well as key decision makers from the highest levels of government across Africa and Eastern Europe, in attendance. Addressing dignitaries at the opening of the two-day Belarus-Africa Forum, President and Chairman of Afrexim Bank, Dr. Benedict Oramah affirmed that Africa is in the grip of such development, and as a continent, it has the youngest and most vibrant people, with 40 percent expected to be below the age of 30 by 2030. According to him, Africa has no need for partners, with limited interest in selling consumable goods or those who see the continent as a “beverage” economy, whose only commendable quality is producing low priced, unstable commodities.
Nigeria’s emissary, Wofai Samuel, engaged the foreign delegates, in an objective and comprehensive two- phased discussion, which lasted for over two hours. The first part of this ministerial discussion, focused on: The Roles of the public sector, in promoting economic relationship and trade, for African and Belarusian businesses.

The Business Panel had its moderator in the person of Mr. Pavel Shvaibovich, Development Bank of Belarus.
