Top rated artistes like Olamide, Small Doctor, Lil Kesh, 9ce and Ycee other A-listers are billed to perform at the Lagos Street Carnival, scheduled for Sunday, 3rd December 2017.

The carnival, which will begin with several entertainment activities in Lagos will be held on the long stretch of Oba Akran road, Ikeja.
The colourful carnival, which was formerly called the Lagos Street Party in 2016, was revamped to serve a wider purpose, and it is expected to launch this year with several activities for the Yuletide season.

Also expected to perform at the event are; top Fuji acts, Alhaji Sule Alao Malaika and Waka Queen, Alhaja Salawa Abeni. There will also be top DJs and a robust line-up of top Nigerian singers, to entertain carnival attendees.

On Friday the Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Steve Ayorinde, said the event will feature activities like colourful carnival processions, outdoor games, kiddies’ play zone, food stalls and a star-studded musical concert.

According to the Commissioner, the carnival will attract over a thousand revelers in colourful costumes and displays in a controlled procession. “They will flag off and sustain a spectacular parade of colours, dance and showmanship to create a carnival atmosphere that Lagosians always crave at the end of the year, ” he said.

Although the carnival is being managed by an independent organisation – HEAT Nigeria Limited – in partnership with the Lagos State government, Ayorinde said the government had put in place adequate security measures and a seamless traffic management strategy to ensure the safety of people and to also ensure motorists using the designated alternative routes do not experience discomfort as a result of the planned road closures on Oba Akran road and it’s environs.

The event as usual is expected to display the inherent creativity, beauty and energy of Lagosians, who are widely celebrated for knowing how to work hard and derive pleasure from entertainment at their leisure.

The rich culture, food and lifestyle of Lagos will also be experienced by visitors and tourists who are already drawn to the attractions that the Lagosians Street Carnival holds, the Commissioner stated.
