GTBank Food and Drink Festival has become a huge tradition that many look forward to in Lagos and the final day wasn't disappointing at all. In fact, the whole of Lagos came out to Landmark Event Center to have a taste of something sumptuous.

The last day of the festival coincidentally fell on the 1st of May which was also celebrated as Workers Day, a federal public holiday in Nigeria. Victoria Island seemed to be at a stand still because all roads led to the food and drink festival.

There was a variety of food and drinks on display for hungry and thirsty Lagosians. Because of the hot weather, the vendors selling cold smoothies and cocktails kept selling out since visitors needed something to quench their thirst.

The coolness of the air conditioning system inside could hardly be felt because of the high influx of people coming to shop. There were some innovative products like garri on the go, which is a combination of garri, sugar and groundnut packed and ready to be taken with cold water. There was also a lady who came from the North with her husband just to exhibit her wares at the festival.

Outside was the farmers’ market, for those who wanted something for their kitchen and probably didn't have time to shop from the market. There were arrays of different foodstuff and most vendors also gave out goodies to those who patronised them.

In spite of the hot sun and heavy traffic, many were happy to experience the GTBank Food and Drink Festival while others just wanted to take pictures for the gram and post with the popular hashtag.

In all, the festival was a huge progress from previous editions and many await the next edition which will hold next year, also in Lagos.
