The 2019 edition of the Tourism And Technology Summit held on Thursday, May 30, at the prestigious Oriental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos.
In attendance at the event were some of the biggest names in the Nigerian IT and Tourism space as they liased on how to take the Nigerian Tourism industry to the next level using technology.
Jumia Travels, Isaac & Nneka Moses of Goge Africa, Netcore Solutions, VR 360 Stories, Pazino Homes, EMR emergency services and a host of other bigwigs were on hand to network with other brands as well as educate the audience on their products and services.
The event, which was the first edition, was attended by hundreds of people and even organisations with keen interest in the Tourism and technological market.
Clara Chinwe Okoro, Founder/Chief Operating Officer of Brandworld Media and organiser of the summit said the aim of the event was to connect and attract the best brains, using technology to try and solve some of Africa's problems.
In an interview with Happenings, she said: "Something is really happening in this part of the world, there are amazing talents everywhere, there are technology hubs everywhere that are providing solutions through the app softwares they are running.
"And one could develop an app or software that would solve a problem that has been there for many years. And that's what we've been going through all these years, trying to create awareness that with just few technology deployed, this problems can disappear altogether.
She further disclosed that the plan was to make the summit an annual event where new technologies that have been developed would be looked at and cut operational cost and improve profits for them.
