Happenings

Over one hundred and twenty widows and their children from Zuba and its neighbouring villages gathered at the Women Development Centre, Zuba, Abuja yesterday as Waterlight Save Initiative observed the 2019 International Widows’ Day.

About 80 children in public schools were given scholarships to alleviate the burdens of the widows.

Speaking at the event, the founder, Waterlight Save Initiative, Engineer Prince Ero Ibhafidon, maintained that he chose Zuba because he discovered that the community was ignored by other NGOs and that the aim of Waterlight Save Initiative is to reach the inaccessible communities.

Waterlight Save Initiative is a non-profit organisation that gives hope, touches lives, and reaches the distant communities in Africa through various targeted community based programs and initiatives. Some of these initiatives include, the provision of portable water, free medical care for widows and children, economic empowerment through small business setups, education support in refugee camps, Internally Displaced Camps (IDP camps), discovering and blocking avenues through which Africans engage in human trafficking and become enslaved all over the the world.

He used the opportunity to thank friends and partners and also called on well-meaning people to support the initiative.
