The founder of Covenant Harvest Christian International Ministry, Pastor Dotun Ojelabi, turned 50 recently, and he marked the special day with a grand birthday party at the Oriental Hotel, Lekki, Lagos.
Some of the notable personalities who graced the event were former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who was also the Father of the Day, and renowned scholar, Prof. Ayo Ibidapo-Obe, who was the Guest Speaker.
Also in attendance were the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, Mrs. Tosin Alobo-Bakare, AIG Tunji Alapini (Rtd), Bashorun Dele Momodu, Prince Bisi Olatilo, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, Yomi Badejo- Okunsanya, Biola Akinola, Biodun Ponle, Biodun Fari-Arole, Michael Effiong, Rufai Ladipo and Mary Charles .
Decrying the moral decadence in Nigeria today, Prof. Ibidapo-Obe stressed the need for elders to teach the younger ones to act right.
He also emphasized the need for government to take the educational system seriously, noting that its poor state is capable of impeding our progress in years to come.
While describing the industrious man of God as his son, former President Obasanjo urged youths to invest in themselves and take action that will shape their future.
The book written by Ojelabi’s father, Chief Adekunle Ojelabi, in 1970, "Textbook on West African History" was also launched at the event.
