The annual Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards recently held at Civic Centre Victoria Island, Lagos.
While giving the welcome address, the Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Mr Olusegun Mcmedal, shared goodwill messages from some of the public relations consultants, including Mr Yomi Badejo Okunsanya (CEO CMC CONNECT), Mrs Nkiru Olumide Ojo (Head Marketing & Communication South and Central Africa Standard Bank Group) and Mr Isreal Jaiye Opawunmi (President, Africa Public Relations Association).
The lighting of the Christmas tree by the NIPR president and some of the dignitaries at the event was a major highlight of the event. Another highlight was the presentation of awards to PR practitioners of the year.
While ID Africa won the Best Digital Agency of the Year award, CMC Connect and Ralph Akinfeleye won the best Modelling Agency of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement of the Year awards respectively.
Femi Kuti of the Vanguard Newspaper won the Photo Journalist of the Year award.
Black House Media won the award for the Best Innovation Company of the Year. A special award was also given to the president for being the Best President in Gender Equality.
There was a special appearance from the music star, 9ice, who thrilled the audience to some great music.
