#EzinneAsks- Three words that describe the style of the average Nigerian

Ezinne Osuagwu

The Mobos fashion party, held in the palms shopping mall, Lekki Lagos, and shoppers from all works of life trooped in for the launch of their VR collection. It was a fun lively crowd and as usual, we got talking with the guests. You know how you walk into a place and suddenly there’re 10 pairs of eyes  sizing you up? It got me thinking? What do Nigerians think of the average Nigerian style. When you go out to an event, what do people expect to see?  So a few people were willing to tell me 3 words that described their view on style of the average Nigerian (though Some refused pictures )

Dakore Akande– I think the style is relentless, current and swagged out because Nigerians always bring it, wherever they are, they turn up, they love their swag.

Eunice– Current, a bit flashy sometimes and trendy

Funsho (lady is black) – Glam, up notch, over dressed for an occasion

Lady in pink- Stylish sometimes overdressed, unauthentic because Nigerian like to look like their celebs. They don’t have their own original style.

Bola Yinka Obebe- Confident, even when they have nothing, they are always stylish, fabulous, and loud. Nigerians like to be noticed. It’s easy to spot a Nigerian abroad, they are the loudest in the room, the most confident, and are always dressed in bright colours.
