#StyleBusters: Nse Ikpe Etim’s style- Discerning quality fashion

Ezinne Osuagwu

Our red carpet fashion choices reflect, in some form or manner, our personal style, whether we are styled or we choose our clothes ourselves, hence #stylebusters aims to rate those style choices but in a fun constructive way.

Nse Ikpe Etim is not a stranger to our TV screens, her style of acting, her looks and her composure, makes you fall in love with her every time, but what of her style? Many will argue that Nse Ikpe’s style is above par, while others don’t think she’s there yet. Today #Stylebusters aims to dissect her style choices and reach a conclusion as to how we’ll rate her style (my personal opinion of course.) Here are four red carpet dresses and what we think about them.

I love me some cow-neck necklines but this outfit doesn’t cut it. The problem with this dress first stems from the construction, as it looks like the designer is still trying to decide if she wanted an A-line dress or a fitted one. The decolletage upset the top of the dress and gave it a boxy silhouette. That slit was obviously badly done, and that fabric used for this dress further adds to it’s numerous problems. But notice how she carries it effortlessly still. 4/10

Now this is much better, I can’t seem to pick what I love the most about this dress- the hair? The sleeves? or the cuffs? How that simple hairdo complemented this lovely evening dress beats me but it was a lovey choice. I love the sleeves and the detailing, it suits her just fine. Look at those cuffs! This look is fabulous, from the sheer and a little peek at the boobs, to the overall regal aura about her pose. This gets a 9/10.

So maybe I love the hair and the Chanel-like collarless jacket but the outfit is quite simple and that circle skirt doesn’t really work for me. That hair is fab and she kept the accessories simple, but the overall combination doesn’t hit it.. This gets a 6/10

She seems to love mostly black dresses and this one is a nice choice. I love the cut out back detail and the slit, though a careful inspection of the front shows that the dress wasn’t well done around the bust and shoulder area, but the hair, and accessories almost make us forget those blunders. Simple shoes and loud lips, we are loving Nse today. 7/10

Nse Ikpe Etim is actually a stylish actress whose only challenge will be how to discern a well made dress, and the ability to choose her outfits, not just because they’re beautiful, but because of the quality. Overall she gets an 8/10.

Happy birthday ma’am
