In your 30s and still trying hard to relive your teenage years? Well, too bad. As we grow older, everything about us changes. We mature both physically and emotionally and as such our style and taste have no choice but to evolve.
Wearing childish and high school trends in your twenties may be excusable, but by age 30, women are expected to be a little more mature and dress like it.
There are limits to what you can wear especially to a formal setting – We are talking about ditching items that make even the chicest 20-something look.
Here are a few things you must avoid.
1.Low waist Jeans
It’s funny and odd when you see ladies with ultra-low rise or low waist jeans, it reminds me of the days of Britney Spears. Low waists pants had their moment then but maturity beckons!
You don’t have to bare it all to look sexy. Put that trashy style away; instead reach for a pair of high-waist trousers or slouchy boyfriend jeans.
2.Holding on to old favourites
Every girl is guilty of hoarding. Most ladies are pack rats; they find it very difficult to ditch clothes that don’t fit. When a lady can’t squeeze into an outfit, she prefers to hoard it with the hope that it would fit in the future. This habit is okay for a 20-year old but at 30, come on now, be honest with yourself.
If your clothes don’t fit anymore, why wait for the future? Instead of living in some future fantasy land, start shopping for your body as it is now
3. Micro Mini Skirts
As we grow older, you begin to realise the trendiest of styles we considered hot have become outdated. Micro mini-skirts are really not appropriate for an adult woman to any occasion.
It’s time to hang them up for good and check some classy knee length, by this age, women should know it’s always better to leave somethings to imagination.
4. Tube Tops
Ugh, why do they still make these? Nobody looks good in them. If you are 30 and still own tube tops in your closet, you are so 2000 and late. This style is a total no-no. You are no longer in high school where this trend was the rave of the moment. Instead opt for a slinky camisole. It goes perfectly with pants, skirts of all types and blazers.
Style is not restricted by age, but that does not give women free license to dress as they please – especially when you clock 30.
