Why Sworn-in Ministers Are Yet To Get Portfolios

Nigerian Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo had sworn-in two ministers,  Prof. Stephen Ocheni from Kogi State and Alhaji Suleiman Hassan from Gombe State before President Muhammadu Buhari returned to the country after his medical attention in London.

The swearing in of these ministers was done after they had been confirmed by the Senate as ministerial nominees, without assigning any portfolio to them.

As at the time of filing this report, the two ministers have not been assigned portfolios even after the arrival of President Buhari which is raising different suspicious in some quarters.

However, reliable sources within the seat of power have revealed to Happenings.com.ng that the reason behind the delay in assigning portfolios to the 2 new ministers might  be unconnected with the planned reshuffling of the cabinet by the President.

It was gathered that the President purposely delayed giving Prof. Stephen, and Alhaji Suleiman portfolios till when he will carry out major shake up in his cabinet in order to accommodate them in the Federal Executive Council (FEC).

The reshuffling exercise, according to sources is expected to take place very soon.
