We Are going To Fight Corruption Like It Has Never Been Fought Before!-EFCC Boss Magu Vows

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Ibrahim Magu, has vowed to fight corruption like never before.

Magu, made the vow at the commissioning of the Special and Sexual Offences Court on Thursday.

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Ibrahim Magu has vowed to fight corruption in 2018 like never before.

Magu made the vow in Lagos in an interview with Newsmen, at the commissioning of the Special and Sexual Offences Court on Thursday.

He reiterated the Federal Government’s plan to thoroughly rid the country of corrupt people and corrupt practices.

“We are going to fight corruption like it has never been fought before. I’m telling you. This year is going to be hell!”

The acting Chairman of the anti-graft agency, also commended the Chief Justice of Lagos State and Attorney-General Mr. Kazeem Adeniji for “singlehandedly, very courageously coming out to initiate this court”

Magu, who is currently in the middle of a face-off between the Federal Government and the National Assembly, also called on other state Chief Justices to comply with the directive of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, that Special and Sexual Offences Court, should be established nationwide to expedite action on corruption and abuse cases.

The EFCC boss, further urged the media to join the Federal Government in the fight against corruption by educating the people and sensitizing the citizens on the dangers of economic crimes.

“I want to call on you the media to join in the fight against corruption because we all have a role to play in the fight against corruption individually and collectively. Educating people on how to the right thing is a way of fighting corruption.”
