Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Ibadan zonal office have apprehended 19 suspected Internet fraudsters aka 'yahoo boys' at Ologuneru and Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Bamidele Philip, Tunji Oladapo Sowell, Bamidele Ayodele Samson, Bololaji Olalekan, Oyesanmi Ayomikun Oluwaseun, Olaleye Israel, Adediran Kemisola, and Abdulrauf Abiodun.
Others are Olaleye Pelumi, Omobolade Alarape, Anuokuwapo Olanrewaju, Paul Damilola, Olateye David Tobi, Arewa Adekunle Ibrahim, and Olowolusi Oluwatomisin.
In addition to the fifteen who were nabbed before, four other suspects were arrested in the early hours of today, Friday, February 1, at their hideout at Akobo, Ibadan. Their names are Babatunde Afeez, Akorede Ahmed Olalekan, Adeleye Damilola and Moshod Richard.
The suspects were taken by surprise following a sting operation led by the zonal head, Friday Ebelo.
Ten of the suspects claimed to be self-employed with businesses in varying locations. Another five of them said they are students.
The suspected fraudsters are already helping operatives with useful information.
Amongst the valuables seized at the point of arrest are four different models and brands of exotic cars, five laptops, twenty telephones (10 iPhones) and one small bag containing items suspected to be fetish objects (juju).
At Akobo, operatives recovered SIM cards, one exotic car, laptops, telephones, female underwear, four bags of fetish objects (juju) and several documents containing false information were also recovered.
