“Please Don’t Follow This Route,” Libya Returnee Advises 

After taking the hard route in search of greener pastures, a Libya returnee has advised people against taking a similar route

A Libya returnee, Mathew James, has advised Nigerians against making the horrible decision of journeying to the North African country in search of greener pastures.

Speaking to IOM Nigeria, an organization partnering with the European Union on Migration Governance and Reintegration in Nigeria, Mathew said:

“I left Nigeria for greener pastures.”

“I don see death face to face but thank God I am alive. Please don’t follow this route, the land is not greener as you think,” he advised.

Mathew, who was a carpenter before he left Nigeria, was among 160 Nigerian migrants (79 Males, 68 females, 3 children, and 10 infants) that were voluntarily returned from Libya by IOM on 14 February 2019.
