Deji Adeyanju has withdrawn his membership of the 'OurMumuDonDo' movement after losing confidence in the leadership of Charles Oputa (Charly Boy).

Adeyanju stated betrayal as his reason while confirming his resignation in a message he shared this morning on social media.

The human rights activist wrote: "Dear Nigerians, ‪I have resigned my membership of OurMumuDonDo. I no longer have confidence in the leader of the movement, Charly Boy. He betrayed the cause while I was away in prison and compromised with the oppressors. Thank you."

OurMumuDonDo is one of the leading civil society movements front lining the fight against injustice and corruption in public offices in Nigeria.

The group has been in crisis recently and that has led to the formation of another movement, the 'Free Nigeria Movement' (FNM), by some aggrieved members.

Deji Adeyanju, who is the convener of Concerned Nigerians, was only granted bail recently by a court in Kano after 78 days in prison for a murder case which had been decided since 2009.

He was previously arrested for leading the '#PoliceNotPolitician' protest against the Nigerian police after accusing them of working with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) before the 2019 general election.
