Nigerian music producer, Don Jazzy, has bid farewell to one of the biggest acts ever signed to his record label (Mavins), Tiwa Savage, as she starts a new chapter of her musical career.
Tiwa's departure from the label was confirmed yesterday morning by the awesome producer who left a heart-warming note bidding her goodbye on social media.
In a post where he showered encomium on Mavin's now ex-first lady, Don Jazzy wrote: "Our darling Tiwatope. We at Mavin would like to say a very big thank you for being such an inspiration to all of us, a friend, a sister. It’s been an epic journey with you and we are very proud of what we have achieved together.
The Mavin boss then went on to wish her well in the future as she becomes a bigger global brand.
"As you start this new chapter in your life we want you to know that we are solidly behind you and can’t wait for the world to see what we have always believed you can be. Your jersey as the First Lady of Mavin will forever be yours as we do not intend to fill that position with anyone else. We love you from the bottom of heart and pray GOD’s blessings continue to follow you.
In the same light of celebrations, Tiwa's new family, Universal Music Group, have welcomed her to their fold.
“My biggest goal is to make Africa proud,” Tiwa said in a statement. “I’m so excited for this moment and I’m thankful to [UMG CEO] Sir Lucian Grainge and my new UMG family for their belief in my dreams. I’m looking forward to this next chapter in my career and I’m more ready than I have ever been.”
