Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo has reacted to the trending story of the day, the rape accusations made against him.
The senior pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly has been accused by Busola Dakolo, wife of singer, Timi Dakolo, who claims the pastor had defiled her while she was still in her teens.
In an interview that she granted YNaija, the photographer alleged that she was raped in her father's house by the man she once saw as her spiritual leader.
She narrated how the tragic incident had happened in her family’s sitting room, where Fatoyinbo allegedly took her virginity.
Since sharing her story in the interview, many people have sympathized with her while also commending her for her bravery. The pastor has also been criticized by many and asked to even step down from his position as senior pastor of his church.
Nollywood actor, Akah Nnani, who is a known member of the church has urged his pastor to release a statement telling his own side of the story after disclosing that he is standing with the accuser.
Popular businessman and entrepreneur, Wale Jana, another senior member of the church has, however, shown solidarity for his pastor by putting up a post bashing Timi Dakolo and his wife, Busola.
Now it seems all of the appeals to say something about the charges and criticism have reached the pastor who has now put out a statement denying the accusations.
"I have NEVER RAPED before, not even as an unbeliever!" - the pastor wrote along with a statement denying the accusations.
