An angry undergraduate of the University of Ibadan [UI] has openly blasted the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Olayinka Idowu, who took to social media to recount his past experience where he met the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, barely hours after the entire school was hit with an armed robbery attack.
The post was not offensive, as it was just a picture of the Vice-Chancellor with the president of France. However, the angry Facebook user termed the Vice-Chancellor 'insensitive'.
The student wrote on Facebook:
"So despite happenings back at unibadan, our own òjògbón is busy taking selfie with Macron and even splashing the picture on our face ….. Hope our òjògbón ask Macron for help on how to curb insecurity on campus ohhh!”
The Obafemi Awolowo hostel located within the campus was attacked by armed robbers on Friday morning at 1 am. The residents were dispossessed of their phones, money and other valuables. Two students were left badly injured. The institution is currently traumatized over the raging crime rates.
