The people of Port Harcourt woke up on Wednesday morning to another cult killing that rocked Rivers State University [RSU].
An Engineering student of the university was killed on his way to school early Wednesday morning by some alleged cultists along Ada George road in the state's capital.
In just three days, the university has recorded two killings by cultists. The first, which occurred less than 48 hours before the second, was the killing of a popular final year student, Prince Barisua, who was shot dead by alleged cultists in a hostel at the university.
Nnamdi Onomi, the State Police Public Relations Officer [PPRO], has confirmed the two killings to be cult related. The second student was found with deep cuts from a machete all over his body.
"The student was found dead along Ada George road with machete cuts all over his body. We learnt that he was a student of the Rivers State University, but we are yet to ascertain that," Onomi said.
Onomi also assured the press that policemen had already started making progress and had arrested two suspects, identified as Elechi Chibuzor and Nnamdi Chibundu, in connection with the death of Prince Barisua, following a tip-off.
