Protesters in their hundreds went on the rampage and damaged some South African businesses and outlets, including Shoprite, Pep, and DSTV, among others, in some parts of Lagos yesterday.
The rampage, according to reports, was a reaction to the continuous xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
You will recall that videos and pictures of South Africans looting and killing Nigerians in xenophobic attacks recently surfaced and sparked outrage online.
As a result, Nigerians staged protests in parts of Lagos against South African businesses in the country. These protests escalated quickly and the ensuing violence in areas, including Jakande, Sangotedo, and Surulere left one dead and many injured.
