The former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and Emir of Kano State, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has advised the Federal Government of Nigeria to involve more women in decision-making in the country.

Sanusi gave this advice at the Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Foundation (ASMAF), Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, where he stated that Lagos women should be given managerial and administrative roles as they deliver 100 percent if given a chance.

The former CBN governor, who became the Emir of Kano State after the death of his grand uncle, Ado Bayero, in January 2014, revealed the reason for the successful completion of his term as CBN boss.

He disclosed that the women in his office had contributed immensely to helping him adapt and ensure smooth operation in Nigeria's biggest monetary house.

"Women are 100 percent better in performance when given a chance,” the 58-year-old former banker stated.

"Women were instrumental to my success when I was the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria.”
