The Surulere Super Plaza, on Akerele Street, in Surulere, Lagos, was razed to the ground by fire recently.
The fire outbreak, according to preliminary investigations conducted at the site of the incident, occurred after there was an electrical surge in one of the shops before escalating to other parts of the building.
Fortunately, no loss of life was recorded at the scene of the incident where properties worth a fortune were lost.
Officials of LASEMA, the Nigerian Police Force, LNSC, the Federal and LASG Fire Services were said to have arrived at the scene to prevent the inferno from escalating to the adjoining buildings.
