Katsina State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 19-year-old housewife, identified as Rabi Shamsudeen, for allegedly hacking her husband to death with a knife at Danjaku village in the Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The incident happened early Monday The spokesman, Katsina police command, SP Gambo Isah, informed journalists that Rabi allegedly stabbed her 25-year-old husband, Shamsudeen Salisu, to death around 4 a.m on Monday morning, January 27, 2020.
The police spokesman went on to disclose to the press that a preliminary investigation had yet to reveal the real reasons for Rabi’s action but he narrated the testimonies of neighbors and eye witnesses, he said;
”When the neighbours climbed the fence of the house and entered the building, Shamsudeen was seen crawling out, holding on to his stomach while Rabi was seen holding od-stained knife in her hand.
“The neighbours rushed Shamsudeen to the General Hospital, Malumfashi but died before reaching the hospital. Rabi is in our custody while investigation on the incident has already begun.”
Recall, on Monday, Maryam Sanda, the wife of the son of the former National Chairman of People's Democratic Party [PDP] was sentenced to death by hanging for reportedly stabbing her husband, Late Haliru Bello to death.
The rate of domestic violence in the country is slowly becoming a reoccurring act.
