The popular Amu Timber Market in Mushin, Lagos, was razed by fire in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) response team arrived the scene of the fire after residents made distress calls at about 1.25 am.
First responders and the RRS worked to curtail the raging fire that had affected many shops and adjoining residential buildings.
According to reports, the fire was caused by an electrical surge. It was, however, kept in check by officials of the LASEMA Fire Unit who arrived the scene with two fire trucks.
