Lebanese Arrested For Trafficking Nigerians

One Lebanese and two Nigerians, have been arraigned for human trafficking by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) before a Federal High Court in Ilorin on the charges of allegedly trafficking a female Nigerian to Lebanon for exploitation.

The suspects identified as Mohammed Wafic Hamze aged 62 happens to be a Lebanese, Adetunji Taofeek Sanusi aged 34, and Tunde Awwal aged 27, were hit with a three-count charge which is centred on Human Trafficking.

The suspects were said to have trafficked sixteen victims to the Middle East countries, but only three people have been rescued.

The arraignment was a result of the investigation into the publicized case of a trafficked victim whose video went viral on social media three weeks ago and was subsequently rescued and brought back to Nigeria.
