The wreckage of a burnt truck, laden with several bundles/packs of cardboard papers and other combustible materials, has been recovered by the LASEMA Response Team from Third Mainland Bridge.
It was reported that the wreckage of the burnt truck, with registration number XN 561 AKD, was recovered close to the Adeniji Adele junction, inward Obalende.
According to reports, no lives were lost and no injuries were recorded. Preliminary investigations placed strong suspicions on electrical sparks from the engine as the probable cause of the fire which burnt the truck.
Though the driver of the burnt truck could not be found at the scene of the incident to further explain how the fire started and escalated to an uncontrollable level, the fire was extinguished by efforts of a team of the Federal Fire Service and the Lagos State Fire Service.
Officials of LASTMA and FRSC were also present at the scene of the accident to control traffic in the ongoing operation where the readily available LASTMA tow truck was deployed but could not recover the wreckage because the weight of the burnt truck was more than the capacity of the LASTMA tow truck
