Prominent soft-sell guru, philanthropist, and writer, Michael Effiong, is the Editor of ‘Ovation International’, owned by Bashorun Dele Momodu, the celebrated media top shot turned politician.
The former ‘National Encomium’ Magazine Editor, who turned 50 recently and was celebrated by eminent Nigerians, had a brief chat with Happenings Magazine.
How do you feel about being 50 today?
I am more than grateful to God, making me see the 50th year of my life. This is an opportunity many do not have.
You have notable Nigerians here today who came to celebrate with you. Do you see that as an accomplishment?
Of course, that is an accomplishment for me. Over the years, I have been able to position myself. All thanks to God and my publisher, Bashorun Dele Momodu, who gave me a veritable platform like Ovation International to excel in life. I could not have achieved this feat, if not by God and my boss.
At 50, what has life taught you?
Life has taught me to be calm and cool. With time, everything will fall in place. I have also learnt to be good to people irrespective of your position. As you can see today, important people are here to celebrate with me.
What do you still aspire in life at this stage of your life?
Long life. To further see the goodness of God in my life. This life is so sweet, so I pray for good health as well.
