On Uche Ogah and his Quest to Govern Abia State

By Sofowora Oladapo

The President of Masters Energy Group, Uche Ogah, is so ambitious to govern Abia State that his quest to become governor is an adventure for him and a dream that must become a reality. Ogah fought tooth and nail to unseat Okezie Ikpeazu in court. The plot failed at the supreme court, as it was in favour of Okeize Ikpeazu. The oil magnate money bag is now pitching tent with and has sworn his allegiance to the ruling APC party.

Ogah has openly praised his former PDP party mates and confessed that PDP is the best party in the country. The same Ogah who had earlier praised the party is now at war with it, claiming that it has a bad structure.

A close source hinted HAPPENINGS that, “It would be a herculean task for Ogah to govern Abia State, now under the PDP, so he has to defect to APC. The reason is the incumbent governor, Okeize Ikpeazu, is working tremendously in transforming the state and putting it on the world map. Okieze is loved by many Abians. So, if he launches his re-election campaign, Abians will support him. Look round the state, you will see that in terms of trade and commerce, production of Nigerian made products, the governor has done a lot in resuscitating it.”

Ogah has not disclosed that he would be running for the governorship seat in the 2019 elections. From all indications, he is currently positioning himself strategically, so he can clinch the APC Gubernatorial ticket to run and possibly make his plan to replace the PDP loyalist, Okezie Ikpeazu, come to reality.
