The Federal Government has commence demolition of structures built on pipelines along Alagbole Akute route,citing the step as a proactive measure to forestall likely mishap.
Earlier yesterday, heavy security presence of armed soldiers were seen along the Alagbole Akute Area of Ogun State, men cladded in overalls with Nigerian Army Engineers inscription effect demolition of the said structures.
A reliable source who confided in Happenings said that the demolition was needful to protect the pipelines routed through the axis, citing the Abule Egba pipeline blast of December 2006 as a case of reference that necessitated the proactive action.
So that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, and, by extension, the Nigerian economy won’t suffer needless loss.
