Ramota stated her resolve at a town hall meeting held at Ojo Barracks Shopping Complex in Oriade LCDA, with many stakeholders in the area in attendance.

While giving her keynote address, the former Lagos State lawmaker, now first female council boss of the LCDA, educated the people on the need to conform with standards set by the State Government in respect to environmental sanitation for proper hygiene maintenance.

“It is a common feature here that people discard their waste indiscriminately and this most times adversely affect our environment.

“Healthy living is a culture we must all embrace by being sanitary conscious, we should shun indiscriminate disposal of refuse, abandoning of vehicles and trading on the roads.

“I urge you all to ensure cleanliness as refuse is disgusting and health is wealth, use of incinerators have been outlawed in the state, you are expected to dispose your waste properly, the indiscriminate dumping of waste end up blocking our drainage, so you must end this wrong  culture, I urge you to make use of wastebin instead.”

She added that, “Mechanics should rather find a space where they can do their repairs, not on the main roads. We won’t tolerate that as it most times constitutes health hazards on our environment”.
