Lagos State Govt. Relocates Ogba Retail Market

Popular Retail and Sunday market located in Ogba Aguda, Lagos State has been sealed by the state government.

The place, we learnt, was sealed on Tuesday, September 25, 2017 by the Lagos State Ministry of Environment.

According to information gathered by Happenings, the market and the entire mechanic work shops were locked for violating environmental law.

At the moment, shops are under lock and key while numerous customers who came to the market early in the day left  without purchasing anything.

We also scooped that, quit notice had been issued to sellers months earlier, to vacate the premises as the state government has proposed to demolish the market for the establishment of an ultra modern one.

However, the sellers have been relocated to another part of the area where they were initially.

Happenings gathered that the retail market is now operating at the popular Ogba main garage pending when the proposed ultra-modern market will be constructed.

Ogba retail and Sunday Market is the major marker for household items, including foodstuffs, fruits and vegetables patronised by residents of Ogba, Ikeja and environs.
