The former President of the country, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has enjoined Christians to imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ and be good disciples of God.
The former President noted that ” it is only when we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ to the fullest and make more disciples, then we will not be defective.
He made this known at the First Baptist Church, Festac Town, Lagos 40th anniversary celebration and book launch.
President Obasanjo stressed that while he was in prison, he was an evangelist and good disciple of Christ, hence he would continue to follow the path.
He gave credence to the illustrious pioneers of the Church, noting that they have done well in providing the Church a befitting edifice to worship God.
Meanwhile, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), Revd. Samson Ayokunle; the Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Engr. Valentine Buraimoh and the immediate past Chairman of Amuwo Odofin LGA, Comrade Ayodele Adewale in there separate goodwill messages appealed to Christians to imbibe the spirit of “love for one another, forgiveness and mutual respect and see ourselves as one.
The CAN President equally charged the law enforcement agencies to fish out the perpetrators of the murderous attack on worshipers at Salem Baptist Church at Jos, Pleateu State.
Comrade Adewale publicly reminded the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo that he was privileged to have followed Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who gave him an opportunity to join the APC delegation prior to the 2014 general elections which included President Muhamadu Buhari, Senate President Bukola Saraki, Alhaji Baraje, Governor Rochas Okorocha, Governor El Rufai, Governor Ibikunle Amosu, former Governor Alimodu Sherif, Alhaji Muhamadu Gambo JImeta and several other APC chieftains to his Abeokuta Hilltop house to get his support for APC.
Comrade Ayodele noted that he was the youngest on that round table and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu introduced him as their youngest member.
