Hon. Bisi Yusuff, has urged the Federal Government to overhaul the nation’s healthcare system to cater for the challenges facing the sector.
A lawmaker in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Bisi Yusuff made this plea as he rounded off a 5- day free healthcare programme, where he sponsored surgical operations of about 400 people.
According to Yusuff, who is representing Alimosho Constituency 2, the programme, organised under Prince of Hope Turns To Reality, is a yearly event that commemorates his birthday on September 26.
The lawmaker told journalists as the programme was being rounded off at the Ipaja mini-stadium that It is a fact that we have health challenges in Nigeria not to talk of Alimosho area alone.
“What I witnessed here is that people came from Ekiti, Ibadan and other areas came for the programme. All these people were living in agony before now.
“I can say that our healthcare system at the national level should be overhauled. I thank God that our Governor has introduced health insurance, I think it should be accelerated because people are suffering”, said the lawmaker.
