Residents of the Block Village New Market Community, came out in protest, of the quit notice by the Lagos State Government, given to them on Wednesday, the 16th of October, which expired on Sunday, 22nd of October 2017. They urged the Government to reconsider its decisions.
A resident identified as Mrs Adejoke said, “I don’t have a husband, I am managing this place as my abode, because I don’t have funds for rent again”.
Most of the residents also lamented on the need for the government, to come to their aid, in their children’s education. They asked their Governor’s support, Mr Adeyanju Omobanke, to convey their pleas to Governor Ambode.
Their lawyer, Barrister Oladotun Hassan was also with them, during the protest.
