Former Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida’s son, Aminu Babangida, has been appointed as the Chairman of Unity Bank after being certified by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to attain the position. The appointment of Aminu as the head of the bank comes exactly 6 years after he was appointed into the board. Having recently turned 40 years, Aminu thus becomes the youngest bank Chairman in Nigeria.
Aminu is an entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer of Phoenix Energy in Abuja. Needless to say his wealth of experience and exposure, might have definitely contributed in no small measure, to his appointment as head of the bank.
He obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA)in International Business and Master of Arts (MA) in International Business Management from Regents Business School and Westminster Business School in London respectively.
