Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano has finally broken his silence, regarding the feud with his predecessor and perceived godfather, Peter Obi.
The outspoken Governor who is currently seeking a re-election for the second term in office, has revealed that Peter Obi allegedly demanded a sum of N7.5billion from him when he assumed office.
This flies in the face of Peter Obi’s claims of non-performance by the governor, as the root of the ongoing feud, between them.
According to the Governor, his refusal to give in to Obi’s contentious demand, was the genesis of the feud between them. He made this revelation, during his campaign at Ezechima Primary School, in Onisha North Local Government Area of the state.
He went further to say that when he had inquired from Peter Obi what the money was meant for, he (Peter Obi) had claimed that the money was payment for the cost of sponsoring and prosecuting his election into office in 2013.
While saying such a request was unfounded, Obiano made it clear that enough money was raised by his friends and associates for the campaign which was not accounted for by Obi.
It would be recalled that Obiano and Obi began to have a frosty relationship shortly after he (Obiano) was sworn in. Although Peter Obi still insists that his problem with the Governor is under performance.
