In the wake of Jide Tinubu’s death, son of APC chieftain Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the chieftain made a sombre trip to the UK with his wife, to support his late son’s wife and “two precious boys”.
Before his trip, Senator Gbenga Ashafa representing Lagos East. paid him a condolence visit where he expressed great shock and sadness at the death of late Jide.
Ashafa issued a statement shortly after he led a group of Southwest Senators, in a condolence visit, to the home of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his Abuja residence on Wednesday morning, before the expected trip of the Chieftain and his wife to the UK to commiserate with his son’s wife and children.
In a short statement, published here on Happenings.com.ng he said “I received with shock and great sadness earlier today, the news of the demise of Mr. Jide Tinubu, the son of our leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu”
He went further to describe the late Jide as a “hardworking gentleman who was full of life and ideas.” He also prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Jide and wished the family the fortitude to bear the loss. In his own words “My heart and prayers are with Asiwaju and his family at this time of grief. May the soul of Mr. Jide Tinubu Rest in Perfect Peace.”
Senators who accompanied Ashafa to pay their condolences were: Senator Adeyeye (Osun Central), Senator Babajide Omoworare (Osun East), Senator Solomon Olamilekan (Lagos West), Senator Abdulfatai Buhari (Oyo North), Senaotr Monsurat Sumonu (Oyo Central) and Senator Adesoji Akanbi (Oyo South).
