Umar Nasko Foundation Announces Prosthetic Challenge

After losing at the 2015 governorship election in Niger state, to the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Sani Bello; Umar Nasko who had contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is unrelenting in his objective to positively impact the environment, through the Umar Nasko Foundation.

The Umar Nasko Foundation is youth-focused and non-profit and it has launched an innovation challenge to fabricate affordable quality artificial limbs that will be made from locally sourced materials in Nigeria.

The Umar Nasko Foundation Prosthetic Challenge is a contest to find the best design and concept for affordable, quality Prosthetic that can be produced in Nigeria, using locally sourced materials.

The vision behind the Foundation’s Prosthetic Challenge is to make quality prosthetic more accessible and affordable for amputees, so that they can lead more productive and better lives. gathered that, all three semi finalists will be invited to work with a multinational team of engineers, UX Design, orthopedics, and other world renowned scientists to develop a Nigerian solution to the expensive cost of functional prosthetic.

The winner will also be honoured with the Umar Nasko Prizes and Awards in the Innovation Category, which carries a crystal trophy, a gold medal, and significant cash compensation.
