Where is Abu Ali Jibia?

Isaac Oguntoye

The question on everybody’s lips at the moment is, what is happening to one time oil and gas big boy Abu Ali Jibia? Is his lavish lifestyle, before he was caught by EFCC no longer appealing to him? These are questions begging for answers as the Lagos big boy who was once the life of social gatherings, has disappeared into thin air.

Happenings.com.ng gathered that this socialite met his Waterloo, when he and 10 others were arrested by the EFCC and charged by the Federal High Court in Lagos, for the Unlawful dealing in Automated Gas Oil  (A.G.O) known as Diesel; Conspiracy; Unlawful distribution of Adulterated Petroleum Products among other charges. The judge who presided over the case was Mojisola Olatoregun.

While he was locked in a battle to extricate himself from this legal mess, Abu Ali’s company vessel MT Swordfish, worth millions of dollars, was confiscated by the EFCC

According to sources close to the embattled socialite, Ali in the face of his adversities was not under pressure, when he was arrested, because he had firm belief in the support of powerful men in the country who were his friends.

He had hope that they would come to his aid, however when the case took on a turn for the worst and became even more complicated, the reality of their abandonment dawned on him.

In the face of his tribulations, sources divulge to Happenings.com.ng that Ali has been abandoned by friends, even those who he had assisted in the past and none took out time to visit him, when he was in EFCC net.

This they say is a reason Ali is living a low-key life, away from the public eye, having learned his lesson the hard way.
